About the Service

A Thorough, Independent Review of Your Entire D365 CRM Platform

A D365 Architecture Assessment is a structured, expert-led evaluation of your entire Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM environment — examining how it is designed, built, configured, secured, integrated, and governed.

Unlike a vendor health check, our assessment is independent and business-outcome focused. We look beyond surface symptoms to identify the root causes of sluggish performance, recurring bugs, security vulnerabilities, and runaway maintenance costs.

The result: A comprehensive written report and a prioritised remediation roadmap that your team — or ours — can act on immediately.

Whether your CRM was implemented years ago and has grown organically, or you have recently inherited a platform, an Architecture Assessment gives you full visibility and control.

Avoid Costly Upgrade Surprises

Identify unsupported customisations and deprecated APIs before your next wave release or go-live — not after.

Independent & Unbiased

No software to sell. Our only output is an honest, actionable assessment of your platform's health.

Documented, Prioritised Findings

Every finding is risk-rated and tied to a specific business impact — so you know exactly what to fix first.

Delivered by Certified D365 Architects

Every assessment is led by a Microsoft-certified professional with hands-on D365 implementation experience.

Change management & documentation
Warning Signs

Does Your CRM Show These Symptoms?

These are the most common issues organisations discover during an Architecture Assessment — many of which have been hidden in plain sight for years.

Slow form loads & timeouts

CRM pages taking 5–15 seconds to load, users experiencing frequent timeouts — often caused by unoptimised plugins, oversized forms, or missing indexes.

Unpredictable post-update breakages

Microsoft wave releases regularly break workflows, plugins, or UI scripts — a sign of reliance on deprecated APIs or unsupported customisation patterns.

Security & compliance concerns

Users with excessive privileges, data accessible to the wrong teams, and audit logs that don't capture what they should — creating compliance and data risk.

Integration failures & data sync errors

Intermittent sync failures, missing records, and duplicate data between D365 and ERP or other systems — symptoms of fragile integration patterns.

Runaway maintenance & support costs

A growing backlog of unexplained bugs, escalating developer time for simple changes, and inability to onboard new team members quickly.

No documentation or knowledge transfer

Critical platform knowledge locked in one person's head, no architectural documentation, and no clear picture of what is deployed and why.

How It Works

A Structured 3-Phase Engagement

Our Assessment follows a proven methodology — thorough enough to surface every significant issue, efficient enough to complete within 2–3 weeks without disrupting your team.

Phase 1 · Days 1–3

Discovery & Kickoff

We begin with a structured kick-off call with your key stakeholders and technical team. We collect environment details, access credentials, existing documentation, and key pain points. Our team maps the scope and confirms assessment objectives.

Stakeholder interviewsEnvironment accessScope confirmationDocument review
Phase 2 · Days 4–12

Deep-Dive Technical Assessment

Our architects conduct a methodical, hands-on review across all six domains. We analyse your solution layers, run diagnostic queries, review code, trace integration patterns, and evaluate governance processes. No stone is left unturned.

Phase 3 · Days 13–18

Reporting & Recommendations

We compile all findings into a clear, executive-ready report with a full technical appendix. Every finding is risk-rated (Critical / High / Medium / Low) and mapped to a prioritised remediation roadmap. We present findings in a live readout session and remain available for follow-up questions.

→ Platform health & debt remediation

Newly Inherited Platforms

You've recently taken over responsibility for a D365 environment and have no documentation, no architectural knowledge, and no visibility into what exists.

→ Platform discovery & onboarding

Multi-Module Expansions

You're planning to expand from Sales into Customer Service, Field Service, or Marketing — and need to ensure the existing architecture can support it.

→ Pre-expansion readiness review

Compliance & Security Reviews

An internal audit, ISO certification, or regulatory requirement has highlighted CRM access controls and data governance as areas needing formal evaluation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an Architecture Assessment take?
A standard Assessment runs over 2–3 weeks from kick-off to final report delivery. Phase 1 (Discovery) takes approximately 3 days, Phase 2 (Technical Analysis) runs for 8–9 working days, and Phase 3 (Reporting & Readout) takes a further 4–5 days. We can discuss an accelerated timeline for urgent situations.
What access do you need to our environment?
We require read-only System Administrator access to your D365 environment(s) and, where applicable, access to Azure DevOps, source control, and related integration platforms. We work within your organisation's security policies and are happy to sign an NDA before engagement commences. No production data is extracted or shared outside your organisation.
Will the assessment disrupt our live CRM?
No. The assessment is a review exercise — we do not make any changes to your environment. All analysis is read-only, and our diagnostic queries and inspections are designed to have negligible performance impact. Most of our work happens asynchronously; we minimise the time required from your team during the engagement.
Do you also fix the issues you find?
The Assessment itself is a discovery and advisory engagement — we identify and prioritise issues, and provide a clear remediation roadmap. We can then provide a separate remediation proposal to fix those issues, either through a fixed-scope project or an ongoing managed service. Many clients choose to use their internal team or existing partner to implement the roadmap, using our report as the technical specification.
How is this different from a Microsoft Health Check?
Microsoft and partner health checks are typically automated tool-based scans that surface common configuration issues. Our Assessment is a deep, manually conducted expert review that goes significantly further — including code analysis, integration architecture review, security modelling, and a custom remediation roadmap tailored to your business context. We are also vendor-independent, meaning our recommendations are driven purely by your needs, not software licensing.
What size organisations is this suited to?
Our Assessment is designed for organisations with D365 environments of any scale — from a 50-user Sales deployment to multi-module enterprise implementations with thousands of users. The scope and depth of the report naturally scales to the complexity of your environment. We are equally comfortable working with mid-market organisations and large enterprise clients.
What is included in the 30-day post-assessment support?
Following delivery of your final report, your lead architect is available for email correspondence and up to two 60-minute call sessions to answer clarifying questions, provide additional guidance on specific findings, and help your team interpret and prioritise the remediation roadmap. This is included in the assessment fee at no additional cost.
